St. Therese's Garden is a secure, self-contained area that promotes a homelike atmosphere.

It features:

• A living room with comfortable, overstuffed furniture reflects the tastes of years gone by. A piano and music system provide relaxation and recreation.

• The country kitchen with dining area is often the gathering place for residents choosing favorite activities.

• A private, enclosed courtyard allows for family gatherings, gardening and and occasional bar-b-que.

• Pets are also selected to enhance this homelike environment.

• Residents are encouraged to bring in and display personal possessions in the curio cabinets.

Staff members of St. Therese's Garden are individually selected. Prior to placement in the Unit, training is provided to staff in all aspects of Alzheimer's and related disorders.

Structured activities are scheduled to meet each resident's level of orientation and intellect.
